What are shoe lifts?
Shoe lifts are also called as elevator inserts/insole or
footwear lifts.
Initially shoe lifts came with few designs as the makers found it difficult
to make different designs of the elevator shoes like normal footwear. Even
customers started demanding for insole which can be put in their normal
shoes.

Lift inserts or shoe lifts initially were not comfortable to
wear because
of their height and the material which was used. But with the time there are more products with more styles, different heights and made out of different materials. Shoe lifts usually come in 0.5 to 2.5 inches and mostly depend on styles and materials. Insoles with more than 3 inches are uncomfortable and usually one must wear one which less than 2 inches. One thing that you must keep in mind is that shoe lifts are different from heel lifts.

Different materials used in shoe lifts
Usually there are four types of materials which are used in
making shoe lifts. They are:
Hard-rubber
: is one of the materials which is commonly used in making shoe
lifts. People usually prefer this material as they are hard, comfortable and
also inexpensive.
Soft-rubber
: is very popular due to its softness. The only problematic
thing about this material is that it has a bad smell, which can only go after
wearing it for several times.
Gel
: is the most comfortable and updated material which is used in
the recent time and also the most expensive one.
Wood
: was used in early day for its hardness. Today manufactures do
not prefer using wood to make shoe lifts.
Different types of shoe lifts
Unlike early days, today manufacturers try to produce various
types of insoles to adjust with different types of footwear. Today we have
half-insole, full insole and detachable insole.
